A local client contacted us about upgrading the audio system on his 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. He had heard great things about us and wanted to discuss an audio upgrade for his personal bike. In typical Westminster Speed and Sound fashion, one of our team did an audio consultation with him, exploring options and figuring out his goals for the upgrade. In the end, we offered a proposal that he liked, so we set a time to begin working on his Harley.
For this Street Glide, we chose an Arc Audio Moto720 amplifier that gets installed inside the fairing. It gives an honest 720 watts of power to the four speakers so the rider gets all the power needed to cut through road noise. Mounting the amp in the fairing means the client doesn’t lose any valuable storage space in the bags.
When it came time to choose speakers, we went with two sets from Infinity. Their Perfect600X models went in the fairing and their Perfect900X in the bag lids. These particular speakers were built from the ground up for motorcycles, as opposed to recycled car speakers or pro audio speakers that many brands use. We re-flashed the factory radio to help eliminate the nasty equalization curve that comes installed from the factory on these bikes.
The final step was to tune the system for the best combination of overall output, clarity and reliability.
When our guy came to pick up his bike, he was thrilled with the fit and finish of our work and loved the increased clarity and output.
