A repeat client from Sykesville stopped by Westminster Speed and Sound with his 2015 Toyota Tundra. He was interested in a technology upgrade for his truck, so one of our team went outside to look over the vehicle with him. After seeing how the Tundra was currently equipped and listening to his thoughts about improvements, we brought him back inside so he could see some of the options in our sound room. In the end, we generated a proposal that he liked, so we set timeto begin work on the Tundra.
For this Toyota, the client chose the Alpine iLX-F309 in-dash unit. It combines a 9″ capacitive touchscreen that is a lot larger than the factory unit. It gives him CarPlay and Android Auto so he can easily control any modern smartphone safely while driving. Imagine being able to do phone calls, texting, navigation and popular internet music services on the new stereo system display while leaving your phone safely stored away in the truck. We added a SiriusXM tuner to give him satellite radio along with the included HD radio tuner in the Alpine unit.
In our typical fashion, we integrated the factory steering wheel controls, USB port and backup camera to work seamlessly with the new unit. The final result is a big, beautiful display that looks like it came factory-equipped from Toyota.
