We installed a hardwired fm modulator today in a 2006 Mazda 3. This customer from Westminster, MD wanted the ability to play Pandora using his Android smartphone through the factory Mazda stereo. He had tried a few wireless fm interfaces and was completely disappointed. Our hardwired interface sounds NOTHING like the cheap wireless versions. When the toggle switch is turned on, the unit blocks out ALL interference from radio stations and allows his device to play crystal clear through FM 87.9. We were able to install the switch and the aux cable port in a way that looked like a factory option!
