A client from Gambrills contacted Westminster Speed and Sound about upgrading the audio system on his 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. After spending time with him and going over goals for the upgrades, as well as exploring options, we offered a proposal to the client that he liked. At that point, we scheduled time to work on the bike.
One of the major differences with us and motorcycle audio systems is we have been doing them for more than two decades and specialize in audio. Our team knows how to make a bike play louder and clearer, and be more reliable. From the choice of our equipment to the quality of our installation, every decision we make is designed with those goals in mind.
On this Harley, we started by flashing the stock radio to remove the nasty equalization installed at the factory. If you own a 14 or newer bike, it is a necessity. From there, we installed an Arc Audio Moto600.4 amplifier inside the fairing. It has more than 600 watts of clean power, doesn’t affect radio reception and is designed to work within the charging capabilities of the stock stator.
The next step was installing a set of Arc Audio Moto602 speakers in the front fairing. After that, we moved to the rear and installed the Rockford Fosgate TMS69BL14 baglid speaker kit. The combination of these four speakers with this amplifier makes it easy to hear the bike while at speed.
In typical fashion for our shop, we soldered all of our connections with heat-shrink, applied for the ultimate in reliability. All the wiring was neatly loomed and secured for easy servicing in the future.
The final step was tuning the amp for the best sound quality.
When the client picked up his bike, he was thrilled with the improvement.
