A client stopped in to talk to us about upgrading the sound system in his recently acquired 2021 Jeep Gladiator. He had the usual complaints about audio: lack of output, poor bass response, and poor overall sound quality. After talking through ideas with him, we suggested the MB Quart package, and he loved the idea, so the time was set to perform the work.
This package is unique because it is a complete solution that works with the original Jeep stereo in the dash or an upgraded model. It combines 3 total amplifiers that get mounted on a metal rack under the passenger seat. It provides 200 watts of power to the 6.5″ woofers in the lower dash and the 3.5″ coaxial speakers in the top of the dash. A 2nd amp sends another 200 watts of power to the 6×9 coaxial speakers in the soundbar. The factory speakers in JL- and JT-Series Jeeps are puny 4″ models that are too small to get real output, let alone sound good. So upgrading to the significantly larger speaker sizes is a welcome improvement.
For real low-end bass, this package comes with a pair of 8″ subwoofers in a custom-fit composite enclosure that securely mounts underneath the passenger seat and is powered by a 400-watt amplifier that mounts on the same amp rack as the other two models. All the wiring is specifically designed for the Gladiator, making for a clean, serviceable install. Once the system was completely installed and tuned, it was time to deliver it back to the client. And he loved it, grinning from ear to ear. while he was here, the subject of an exhaust upgrade was brought up, so we installed a Borla Atak system as well, giving the truck a great engine sound.
