A client came to Westminster Speed and Sound looking to have the windows tinted on his 1999 Chevrolet Corvette. Right from the get-go, two important things were in play here.
Number one, as GM cars age, their interiors are prone to fading and cracking due to the sun’s harmful UV rays. Second, the rear window on a C5 Corvette is challenging to work on, so not everyone has a technician with enough skill to make it turn out perfect.
We knew right from the start that a high-quality window film was in order, so we suggested our Dark Matter product. It can eliminate up to 62% of the sun’s heat while providing great clarity, coupled with a 99% reduction in UV.
The client loved our idea on this film, so we set a time to begin working on the car. On the day we pulled the Corvette into our bay, we treated it with the utmost care, just like all the vehicles we work on. We use seat protectors, floor protectors and a steering wheel cover to protect the interior, and we cut our film using a computer-controlled plotter. What that means to you is we don’t use any razor blades to cut your film, so there is no chance of damage to your vehicle.
We also perform a detailed check-in and check-out procedure to ensure you get your car back in the same condition as we received it.
When the client came to pick up his Corvette, he loved the new look and couldn’t wait to see how much cooler the interior would be the next day.
