A client from Hanover, Pennsylvania, came to Westminster Speed & Sound, referred to us from their local car dealer, having recently bought a 2012 Dodge Durango R/T and wanting a rear seat entertainment system.
This vehicle, in particular, presents a special challenge for adding headrest video screens. Many modern vehicles come with what is called active headrest systems. In the event of a collision, the headrests will move slightly forward to lower the risk of whiplash. What that means to the consumer is that you cannot replace the factory-installed headrests.
We are fortunate to work with a supplier that makes a system that installs directly behind the factory headrest and incorporates a 7″ monitor and integrated DVD player. We cover the new monitor headrest custom matching leather on the sides and rear of the unit to look great and match the inside of the vehicle cosmetically. These monitors also include HDMI ports and USB ports on each unit to increase flexibility when adding game systems, tablets, phones and more.
If you are interested in a rear seat entertainment system for your vehicle, we invite you to stop by the store at your convenience. You can also Contact Us Here for more information about any of our products and services.
