Today we installed Kenwood’s flagship DNN990HD navigation system in a 2004 Ford Econoline conversion van for a local Westminster client. This upgraded Ford navigation system goes above and beyond any nav (GPS) system we have installed before… You can even browse the internet on it! It has wi-fi built-in, so if you are parked at McDonalds, Panera, or any place with accessible wi-fi you can load a browser right on the screen. It also has all the usual features such as Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone control, DVD, and USB. Also, this particular conversion van had an empty location where a flat screen tv would be mounted for the rear passengers to see. We were able to custom fabricate a mounting bracket and install a 17″ flat screen monitor in the overhead location. We wired the monitor to play any DVD inserted in the Kenwood nav system! We will be doing a full-feature article on this project so stay tuned!
