A client from Greenbelt reached out to us about improving the technology in his 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo. We did a phone consult and learned that another shop had installed a low grade add-on CarPlay module and it rarely worked properly. He also mentioned that the factory backup camera image was lousy. After talking through several ideas, we suggested replacing the original PCM3.1 radio with a Sony XAV9000ES. We explained that we source a factory Porsche dash escutcheon that makes for a beautiful, finished look and was completely reversible, should the next owner want to reinstall the stock radio. He liked our idea, so time was set to perform the installation.
When the car got to us, we instantly realized the Jet Black Metallic paint needed some help and he mentioned being interested in a ceramic paint coating. Our team did a two-stage paint correction to remove the thousands of swirl marks accumulated over the last 10 years. We also did touch up paint on any stone chips. After that was completed, we coated it with our Titanium coating package that is designed to last several years. The end result was a complete transformation of the car.
Now back to the audio. The Sony model gave him wireless CarPlay and Android Auto along with the best grade electronics currently on the market. We integrated to the stock Bose amplifier and gave him a USB-Ccharging port in the center console by repurposing an existing power port. A new backup camera was installed with better resolution than a new Porsche.
A Sony XAV-9000ES multimedia receiver and upgraded backup camera provide premium safety, communication and entertainment. When the client came to get his car, he was thrilled with the results.
