A client from Hanover, Pennsylvania, stopped by Westminster Speed and Sound looking for an audio and technology upgrade for his 2013 Ford F-150. After spending time looking over the truck and talking through ideas, we gave him a proposal he liked, so we set time to begin working on it.
We started with a Sony XAVAX7000 CarPlay and Android Auto unit in the dash and integrated the steering wheel controls with the new unit. Our team moved the factory rearview camera image to the new screen and we used an install kit that gave the client two convenient USB spots below the new radio. We used the 45 watts per channel of the Sony to power a set of Blam 570RS components up front and 570RC coaxes in the rear doors.
The result was a system that had lots more output, remarkably better sound quality, and a factory-looking fit and finish. When you add in the upgraded smartphone capabilities, you end up with a truck that is truly enjoyable to drive over long distances.
When the client came to pick up his truck, one of our team went out to it and explained all the operations in detail. He loved the new tunes and marveled at how beautiful the radio looked in his dash.
