A customer recently walked in the door that was the proud new owner of a 2002 Dodge Ram Quad Cab truck. The truck had several upgrades already done to it including a 4″ suspension lift kit and a nice wheel and tire package. The stereo system in the truck had been upgraded, but the attention to detail had left a lot to be desired. After we went over the truck completely, we sat down with the customer and let them tell us what improvements they would like to have addressed. The first request was to have a Double DIN touchscreen navigation system installed in the truck. We explained that the dash opening was not large enough to hold a unit like that but we could gladly rebuild the dash area to accommodate their request. As you can see in the picture below we modified the dash opening to hold a Sony XNV-770BT Navigation system. We also painted the center dash area the same pretty silver color as the exterior. That was a nice touch. Now the customer had the navigation system they wanted along with full control of their iPod, and Bluetooth for their Android Smartphone. They can now make hands-free calls in the truck and stream music wirelessly to the navigation system.
We also addressed one other issue with the stereo system. The sound quality of the speakers was lacking, and needed to be improved. We installed German Maestro CS6508 component speakers in the front doors. These Concept Series speakers deliver an impressive quality sound at a reasonable price. German Maestro is very good at what they do, and is worth researching online. Check out their website! We installed German Maestro CC6508 speakers in the rear doors as well. The system sounded as good as it looked. Future upgrades call for a 5-channel amplifier and a subwoofer under the rear seat.
