A repeat client from Finksburg called Westminster Speed and Sound to say he was buying a 2020 Toyota Landcruiser and wanted to have the whole vehicle wrapped in 3M Scotchgard Pro paint protection film. He had bought a new vehicle in the past that got a stone chip within 50 miles and didn’t want that to happen again. Our team was thrilled to work with him again and gladly accepted the offer. He drove the vehicle directly from the dealership to us and left it until we could perform the work.
If you are new to paint protection film, it is a clear urethane product that is 8 mm thick and protects a vehicle’s paint against stone chips, road rash, bird droppings, sap and even scratches. If you want your vehicle to look new for a longer period of time, this product is a great investment.
While we had the Landcruiser in our care, the client told us that the doors sounded tin and hollow compared to his Mercedes. Our staff explained that we could install a sound-damping product that would make them sound more solid and reduce road noise. He was thrilled with the idea and asked us to treat all four doors.
Our technicians installed the product on the inside of the outer door skin, inside of the inner door skin, and back of the door panel. The end result was a “deadening” of the door, making it sound and feel very much like an expensive European vehicle.
When the job was finished and he saw the truck, he was thrilled, and that made our day.
