A client from Baltimore contacted us recently about upgrading the phone connectivity technology in his 2017 Subaru Outback. We invited him to schedule a technology consult at our facility and he liked our idea. When he arrived, one of our team looked over the car with him and talked through what he liked and what he wanted to improve. The main things we gathered were an increased screen size, wireless CarPlay and keeping the existing technology intact. We took that information and worked up a proposal that we thought best suited his needs. He approved the quote so we set about ordering the equipment and scheduling a time for the installation.
This Outback had the Harman Kardon premium sound system, along with a factory backup camera and steering wheel audio controls. Our solution keeps all of those features intact. For a new source unit in the dash, we chose the Pioneer DMH-WT76NEX. It combines a 9″ touchscreen unit in a “floating format” along the lines of many modern cars these days. The screen resolution and Graphic User Interface are simply stunning! When you add in wireless Apple CarPlay, what’s not to love. Our interface module also allows the client to have a series of informative gauges that are not displayed on the instrument cluster.
When the client came to pick up his Outback, he was thrilled with the new cosmetics and the upgraded tech.
