A client from Reisterstown came to Westminster Speed and Sound with her 2011 Subaru Outback, looking for a modern technology upgrade. After looking over the vehicle and spending time with her, we gave her a proposal that she liked, so we set a time to begin working on her Outback. Since she owned an iPhone, we began the upgrades by installing a Sony XAV-AX5000 unit in the dash. It combines Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto along with Bluetooth and a USB port. Our team integrated the steering wheel-mounted audio controls with the Sony unit and flushed the USB port into a convenient spot under the new stereo system.
While her vehicle was here, we added a remote car starter called a Drone that is controlled by an app on her smartphone. What we love about this system is the almost-unlimited range, coupled with not having to carry an extra remote with you. For even more convenience, we added a sensor that tells her the temperature inside her Subaru. This is a big help because now she knows how long it will take to warm up or cool down the car to make it nice and comfortable inside.
