Many of our Maryland and southern Pennsylvania clients don’t know that smartphone remote car starter control systems are available at Westminster Speed and Sound near Baltimore. For several years, we have been able to offer clients the amazing DroneMobile system that lets an app on your phone communicate with a remote starter in their vehicle. Does this sound appealing? Read on to find out how it works.
What is DroneMobile?
Developed by the same company that manufactures the amazing Compustar brand of remote starters and security systems, DroneMobile lets your iPhone or Android phone lock, unlock or remote start your car, truck or SUV from anywhere you have an Internet connection. Your car could be parked at Baltimore/Washington International Airport while you’re on the beach in Cancun, and you can check to make sure your doors are locked, the battery voltage is still good and even – with an optional sensor – what temperature the interior of the vehicle is. With DroneMobile, concerns over remote control range just don’t exist.
How Does Smartphone Remote Car Starter Control a Vehicle?
DroneMobile is based on a cellular radio and a GPS receiver that we install in your vehicle. Here’s how it works. If you want to remote start your car using DroneMobile, simply launch the app on your phone and press the Start button. Your phone will send a secure start message to the DroneMobile server over the Internet. The server then sends a command over a cellular network to your vehicle. In mere seconds, your car will start. Once it starts, the system responds and displays a messageon your phone that it worked .
Why Have Smartphone Control?
We always have our phones with us, which makes it easy to check on your car from anywhere at any time. The included GPS receiver will let you see the location of your car on a map. You can even set alerts that will let you know if your vehicle leaves or enters a preset area.
Just as with a two-way radio frequency remote, the DroneMobile app will alert you if someone is breaking into your car. If you have a full security system, it also shares shock sensor and tilt/motion warnings.
If you happen to be an iPhone user and own an Apple Watch, DroneMobile has an app compatible with your watch so you can control your vehicle from your wrist.
