A client from Gaithersburg, Maryland contacted WSS Westminster Speed & Sound about getting a new GPS Navigation system in her 2009 Subaru Forester. This person lived well over an hour away from us. She had heard good things about us and wanted to meet with us to discuss her options to upgrade her Subaru GPS. We set up a consultation. When she arrived, we discovered that she had an existing Subaru GPS system that had a broken screen so it was essentially dead. The decision was made to install a new Kenwood DNX690HD.
Subaru GPS Upgrade Solves Problem, Retains Functions
At her scheduled appointment we installed the new Kenwood and integrated her steering wheel controls to work with the new unit. This unit also gave her Bluetooth for hands-free calling and music streaming. She gained full control of her iPod and now has the ability to control Pandora Internet Radio through a Smartphone as well. She also requested SiriusXM so a satellite tuner was also installed. The navigation in the Kenwood DNX690HD is a partnership between Garmin and Kenwood and we have found that clients really like it’s ease of use. This unit also gives her HDRadio so now many of her music stations can be heard in crystal clear, CD grade sound. A backup camera is a possible upgrade on this system at a future point.
When the client arrived to pick up the vehicle they really liked how the unit fit in the dash and looked like it came straight from Subaru. None of her original functions were lost and she gained a state of the art navigation system. We sat in the vehicle with her to go over how the unit worked and to explain it’s functionality. This is something that we take great pride in. We want our customers to know how to use their new technology. We are not an internet retailer. We are a mobile electronics specialist and our customer’s only deserve the best from us. We appreciated the smile on her face as we demonstrated all the new features. Another job, another happy customer. We love that here at WSS Westminster Speed & Sound.
