A repeat client from Westminster, Maryland, came to WSS Westminster Speed & Sound looking for some more Tundra truck accessories for his 2014 CrewMax. We previously installed the Amp Research PowerSteps, which are motorized steps that retract completely flush against the vehicle when not in use. Along with that, we did a Compustar remote start wth keyless entry and an audio upgrade that included a custom subwoofer enclosure behind the rear seat with a JL Audio 10TW3 subwoofer.
This time around, he was looking for more usefulness from his cargo area. After spending some time on discussing how the bed was going to be used, we suggested the Roll-N-Lock retractable bed cover, along with the optional cargo manager. The customer liked our idea, so we set an appointment.
Roll-N-Lock Cover Protects Bed Contents
The Roll-N-Lock bed cover is one of the nicest looking and easiest to use bed covers on the market. It has seamless, marine-grade vinyl on the top of the cover, so you would never know there are aluminum slats underneath doing all the work. To use the cover, you simply turn the lock handle on top, and it will automatically retract into the canister mounted at the front of the bed. When you want to close the cover, you simply pull on the attached strap. The cover can be locked in multiple positions between open and closed. The unit comes with a clever water drainage system that uses the bed rails that support the cover. At the canister, drain tubes allow any water collected to drain outside the bed, keeping the contents dry and secure.
Cargo Manager Keeps Bed Items Within Reach

The cargo manager is a unique add-on for the Roll-N-Lock cover that lets you keep items securely in place while the truck is moving. It can be locked into several positions, just like the bed cover. You can also remove it easily in case you need all of the cargo space.
Weathertech Wind Deflectors For Increased Cabin Comfort

While we had the customer’s truck, we also installed a set of Weathertech wind deflectors. Now the client can crack the windows open on rainy days and get fresh air into the truck while keeping the water out.
Nighttime Usage Facilitated With LED Bed Lighting

The finishing touch on this installation was installing LED bed lighting. If you have ever used a truck bed in the dark, you know how frustrating it can be to find everything. We installed eight pods, four on each side of the truck bed, so the client can easily find anything he wants in his bed when it is dark outside.
The client loved the work we did on his Tundra, and that is what makes us smile. He knows his bed is going to be a lot more useful now, and the lighting and wind deflectors were just icing on the cake.
