Westminster AMG S 65 Coupe Paint Protection Package

A local client recently contacted the team here at Westminster Speed and Sound while researching options to protect the paint on his gorgeous 2017 AMG S 65 coupe. This is indeed one of Mercedes’ flagship vehicles, and the client wanted to ensure that it would continue to look immaculate for years. After inspecting the Selenite Grey metallic paint and talking to the client about where and how he drives the car, we designed a truly bespoke paint protection film package to keep this luxurious vehicle looking like new.

3M Paint Protection Film Pro

The protection package we presented is based on 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film Pro Series 4.0. This latest generation of urethane film is a transparent and sacrificial barrier that our technicians apply over impact- and wear-prone surfaces of the vehicle. This process prevents stone chips from rocks, gravel and stones, staining from tree sap or bug splatter and small scuffs from damaging the factory paint underneath. Impressively, small scratches that would usually result in swirl marks or haze on the paint finish are absorbed by the film’s self-healing properties. A little warm water or a few hours out in the sun and these marks simply go away.

Cavities like the light recess in the bumper were carefully worked.

The completed job adds protection to the beautiful paint.

Our technicians expertly smooth out the film.

Film was applied to the fenders and then trimmed to perfection.

The slip agent is slowly worked out from under the film.

The PPF is cut to reveal the Mercedes badge.

After washing and degreasing the vehicle, our technicians prepared sheets of the 3M Scotchgard film for installation on the hood, front fenders and front bumper of the vehicle. We call this our Front End protection package. Our computer-cut film includes provisions for the Mercedes badge, the six parking and accident-avoidance sensors in the front bumper, as well as the tow hook access panel. As you can see, once the film is in place, it’s almost invisible.

Added Protection Package

The painted strip over the windshield was protected with a hand-cut piece of film.

Protection film was used on the headlights.

For added protection and extended coverage, we applied film to the headlights, the door handle cups and the edges of the doors. We also applied film to the painted trim piece at the top of the windshield ahead of the convertible top. All of these areas are prone to damage from flying debris.
